Another product funded by KfW, Econ is an Emergency Contraceptive Pill used for prevention of unwanted pregnancy and it’s effective for up to 120 hours after unprotected sex. Launched in 2009, Econ is targeted towards 18-40 age group women (all women who are likely to get pregnant and have not entered menopause). Each film of coated tablet contains Levonorgestrel I.P. 1.5 mg and is available in pharmacies (mostly in urban and semi urban and few in rural areas).
